David McIntyre

David McIntyre is Vice President, Corporate Strategy & Development at DTS, Inc. based in Calabasas, CA. David has been focused on new technology adoption throughout his career. At DTS, David leads the team responsible for all standards and consortia activities including participation in groups such as ATSC, Blu-ray Disc Association, DASH-IF, DVB, HDMI, and Wi-Fi Alliance. He is also deeply involved in DTS's strategy, corporate development, and new technology launch activities including immersive audio. Prior to DTS, David worked in early stage technology venture capital focused on companies making the jump from technology development to first market adoption. David got his start as employee #5 at QDesign, a maker of MPEG-1 & 2, Layer II audio products and the low bitrate audio compression technology introduced into Apple QuickTime 3 in 1998 and used for streaming with Apple Quicktime 4 in 1999.
David has a degree in Mathematics & Computer Science as well as graduate studies in audio compression and HRTF-based rendering at McGill University.
