Dr. Ahmad received his Doctorate of Engineering from the University of Konstanz Germany (2012). Before his Doctorate, he received his Masters and Bachelor (Hons.) degrees in Computer Software Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) Pakistan (2009) and from the University of the Punjab Pakistan (2005), respectively. He holds the honors of securing the university wide 1st and 3rd positions in his Bachelor and Masters degrees, respectively. During his Doctorate, he studied on the development of secure computing systems with the RVC dataflow programming framework. During his Masters' thesis, he worked on energy efficiency issues of multimedia codecs over resource-constrained wireless video sensor networks. Currently, he is working as a Scientific Research Engineer at the SCI-STI-MM laboratory of the School of Electrical Engineering, Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. Earlier, he worked as a Research Assistant at the Multimedia Signal Processing laboratory of University of Konstanz, Germany and Wireless and Secure Networks (WiSNet) laboratory of the School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST), Pakistan. His research interests include multimedia signal processing (compression, security, communications), and wireless sensor networks. He is currently on the review panel of many leading journals including IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, Circuit System and Video Technology and many others.
