Robert-Eric Gaskell

Robert-Eric Gaskell is an audio engineer, educator, and electronics designer. He owns GKL Audio Inc. where he designs and manufactures all-discrete analogue audio signal processors for professional studios as well as educational kits for university level audio programs. Robert-Eric is currently a Ph.D. candidate (ABD) in Sound Recording at McGill University. His research focuses on the nonlinear behavior and perceived sound quality of common analogue electronic components as well as the use of Graphene in acoustic transducers. He holds an M.Mus. from McGill University and a B.A. in Music Technology and in Psychology from Connecticut College. Robert-Eric is currently a course instructor at McGill University having taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Electronics, Digital Studio Technologies, Electro-Acoustics, and Electro-Acoustic Measurement within the Sound Recording Area of McGill’s Schulich School of Music. He is also a lecturer at Recording Arts Canada where he has taught courses in Electronics, Signal Processing, and Sound Reinforcement. In the past, Robert-Eric has worked as an engineer for Audio Engineering Associates (AEA) in Pasadena, CA and has spent seven seasons as a Senior Recording Engineer for the Aspen Music Festival.
