Shawn Scarlett

Shawn Scarlett is an experienced semiconductor professional with a long history in audio. Currently the Director of Marketing for NXP’s Mobile Audio product line, he has a balanced technical and business background. Shawn has helped introduce several ground-breaking products to the market, including the industry’s first integrated 5-volt audio amplifiers and the first hi-fidelity Class-D amplifier solution. More recently, he has been focused on products with embedded processing for voice and audio in mobile devices.
Shawn is active in both developing and promoting cutting edge audio solutions; he holds several patents for audio devices and has published multiple articles and whitepapers that explain advanced audio concepts to the general market.
Shawn received his Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Arizona, and his Masters in Business Administration from Santa Clara University. Previously he has held positions at Analog Devices and National Semiconductor, both leading broad-market companies, as well as GTronix and Tripath, both audio-focused start-ups.
Shawn came to semiconductors by way of live sound reinforcement. He was a journeyman in the IATSE and worked as a professional sound engineer for touring musical and theatrical acts. He still volunteers his time and mixing expertise for several local music festivals.
Shawn currently lives in Nijmegen, Netherlands and is an avid bagpiper, having performed all over the North America and Europe.
