Toby Stokes

Toby joined the Institute of Sound Recording in 2011 after graduating from the University of York with a MEng in Electronic Engineering with Music Technology Systems. Funded by BBC R&D and the EPSRC, Toby is researching audio un-mixing, developing techniques for dealing separately with the different sounds mixed into broadcast material.

A live sound engineer since a young age, Toby has done live sound work everywhere from festivals to churches and theatres, and is a student member of the Audio Engineering Society. In his spare time, Toby enjoys photography and playing his guitar.
