Abstract:
In 2007 the TU Berlin provided one of its larger lecture halls with the largest system for wave-field synthesis (WFS) worldwide. It allows to synthesize wavefronts of virtual sound sources by driving a loudspeaker array of 86 m length, consisting of 830 independent channels and 2700 loudspeakers. It is used for acoustic demonstrations, listening tests, and for the performance of computer music with advanced spatial processing.
