Sigmund Gudvangen obtained his doctorate from The University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK in 1991. He worked in a Post-Doctoral Research Position at The Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, University of London for two years and joined Buskerud University College in 1993, where he is currently an associate professor. His research interests are in signal processing applied to electroacoustics and audio engineering, time-frequency analysis and number theoretic transforms. He is a member of The audio Engineering Society (AES), The European Association for Signal, Speech and Image Processing (EURASIP), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and The Acoustical Society of Norway (NAS).
