Toni Mateos

After graduating and obtaining a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics in 1999 and 2004, respectively, he moved to the Imperial College of London, where he held an Advanced Research Fellow position in String Theory and Quantum Gravity. In 2006 he became Associate Lecturer at the University Pompeu Fabra, and joined Barcelona Media, where he became Director of the audio research line in 2008.
Founding member of Imm Sound and R&D Director since 2010. Joined Dolby Labs after Imm Sound's acquisition in 2012. Author of 30+ papers published in world-leading peer-reviewed journals, with 300+ citations. Current research focuses on 3D sound recording, manipulation and playback, acoustic field simulation in virtual environments via ray-based and finite-difference algorithms, and non-blind de-reverberation. In the last 15 years, he has taught Physics, Acoustics Engineering, Maths and Computer Science at the Universities of Barcelona, Imperial College and Pompeu Fabra.
