Balázs Bank received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary in 2000, and in 2006, respectively. In the academic year 1999/2000 he was with the Acoustics Laboratory at Helsinki University of Technology, Finland. From 2000 to 2006 he was a Ph.D. student and research assistant at Budapest University of Technology and Economics. In 2007 he returned to the Acoustics Lab of Helsinki University of Technology for a year, and in 2008 he was with the Verona University, Italy. Since 2009 he is with the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, where he is currently an associate professor. He is a member of the AES and the IEEE, and he is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Signal Processing Letters. His research interests include physics-based sound synthesis, filter design for audio applications, and loudspeaker and room equalization.
