Gilles Courtois was born in Thann, France, in 1989. He received his M.Eng. in electrical engineering from the National Institute of Applied Science (INSA), Lyon, France. He is currently with the Laboratory of Electromagnetics and Acoustics (LEMA) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) as a PhD candidate. His research interests include speech and audio processing embedded in hearing aids, and technological solutions to improve intelligibility and safety of hearing-impaired subjects. He is a student member of the Audio Engineering Society and the Swiss Acoustical Society.
