ANDRES MAYO is a renowned audio engineer and producer, with strong recording and sound post-production skills. He holds an academic degree with a major in Electronics Engineering at the National Technology University (U.T.N.) in Argentina.
Since 1991, he pioneered the art of mastering, working for several facilities in Latin America as well as in London, New York and Ludwigsburg, Germany. In 1994 Andres was co-founder of Mr. Master, first pro mastering facility in Argentina, which later became “Andres Mayo Mastering” with full 5.1 mixing and mastering capabilities.
He boasts credits in over 1,800 albums, winning 2 Grammys as a producer and 6 Carlos Gardel Technical Excellence Awards.
Andres was elected VP Latin America in two consecutive periods, 2005-2007 and 2007-2009, co-chairing more than 50 AES events in the region, including the first Latin American Conferences in 2007 (Buenos Aires), 2008 (Mexico) and 2009 (Sao Paulo). He also served 4 years as Chair of the Argentina Section, actively contributing to the Section’s web development, forums, seminars and publications.
Recently, Mr. Mayo became President Elect of the AES with his term starting October 2013 and still serves the Society as Chairman of the President´s Advisory Group and Vice Chairman of the Technical Committee for Audio Recording and Mastering Systems (TC-ARMS).
Andres speaks fluent Spanish, English and Portuguese and has been invited as keynote speaker in more than 60 conferences held in many countries throughout Latin America, US and Canada.
