Lasse Nipkow (b. 1972) studied electrical engineering at the Techikum Winterthur (known today as the Zurich University of Applied Sciences) after completing an apprenticeship as an electronic technician at Studer Revox. Ever since, he has worked at the Institute for Mechatronic Systems as a research assistant and scientific staff member (since 2007 as the project leader in R&D projects). In 2003 he passed the Swiss certification exam for sound engineers. Since 2005 he has also worked as a sound engineer at the Zurich Academy of the Arts and since 2008 as a docent at the Swiss School of Sound Engineering TTS. In 2005 he founded the company Silent Work LLC, which focuses on empirical research in the field of applied psychoacoustics in sound recordings.
