Ioan Allen

Ioan Allen signed on with Ray Dolby in 1969. An AES Fellow, and recipient of the AES Silver Medal, Ioan has earned scientific and engineering awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, including an Oscar in 1989. Mr. Allen spearheaded the introduction of breakthrough film audio formats which have revolutionized the film sound experience. He is active in U.S. and world standards organizations, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, and is often invited to give presentations during industry conferences and film festivals. He is a lifetime fellow of the SMPTE, and holds an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Nottingham in the UK.
