Jeff M. Smith is Associate Director of the National Center for Media Forensics where he helps build the foundation for strengthening the forensic science disciplines of digital audio and video analysis through the Center’s education and research programs. Smith’s research areas include the forensic authentication of recorded digital audio and video media, forensic speaker recognition, as well as the evolving synergy that exists amongst the forensic fields dealing with computers, mobile devices, and digitally recorded media. He is an AES member and Chair of the Technical Committee on Audio Forensics. He works closely with law enforcement in the Scientific Working Group on Digital Evidence (SWGDE) as an at-large member of its Executive Committee and is also a full member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS)
