AES New York 2013 Presenter or Author

Stefan Heinzmann

Stefan Heinzmann

Primary Affiliation: Heinzmann - Konstanz, Germany

Having graduated in computer science at TU Karlsruhe, Stefan was involved with digital audio right from the thesis, which was about mixing desk design. Interests and skills were never restricted to programming, but extend into electronic circuit design, spanning both digital and analog circuitry.

With occasional excursions in other fields, he worked in and for a variety of pro audio companies, first as an employee, and then as a freelance consultant starting in 1999. Those companies include DAVID, Soundcraft, Studer, Focusrite, and then ALC NetworX, where he helped defining and implementing the RAVENNA network protocol. This led to work in the X192 task group of the AESSC, which recently resulted in the AES67 standard.

At the moment, he is helping Schoeps with digital design in general, and designing a networked microphone in particular.
