GREG CALBI, A MANAGING PARTNER AND SENIOR MASTERING ENGINEER AT STERLING SOUND, STARTED HIS CAREER IN 1972 AS AN ASSISTANT ENGINEER AT THE FAMED RECORD PLANT.
Eventually, Greg Calbi’s path led to the mastering room. It didn't take long before he was cutting vinyl for such 70's classics as John Lennon’s “Walls and Bridges”, David Bowie’s “Young Americans” and Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run”.
Greg moved to Sterling Sound in 1975 at the beginning of the punk music scene mastereing albums for The Ramones, The Talking Heads and Patti Smith. In the mid 1980's, after mastering Paul Simon’s “Graceland”, he began to add jazz and world music to his discography. Including Bill Frisell, Joshua Redmond, Joe Lovano, Michael Brecker and Branford Marsalis.
With over over 40 years experience, Greg continues to expand his wide-ranging, eclectic discography.
