From a fascination with high performance analog through a mixed signal conversion to digital audio (signal processing and networked audio), Tim Shuttleworth’s current engineering focus is on audio in a networked world. As a member of the AES Technical Committee on Networked Audio Systems, he acted as editor for their Emerging Trends Report in November 2011. Tim was Chair of the Networked Audio Track for the AES 133rd Convention and is chairing this track again for the 135th. He has been a committee member of the Chicago Section and the LA Section. He sponsored several section meetings and was Treasurer of the LA Section 2004-5. Tim has acted as a conference and journal papers reviewer and was a session moderator for the AES 44th Conference on Networked Audio.
His patent portfolio of twelve granted utility patents with eleven pending encompasses analog signal processing, power amplification, digital signal processing and audio networking. His product designs range from large format recording and broadcast mixing consoles through stand-alone signal processors and amplifiers to integrated studio monitors and self-powered and network controlled loudspeaker systems.
