Abstract:
LAST forms part of Dept. of Telecommunications of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics and has a long established tradition in electroacoustics and audio. The current activity of the lab encompasses teaching audio recording, room and musical acoustics, sound quality engineering, and noise and vibration control of large-scale infrastructural projects—to name but a few. After a short overview of teaching and research activities, four demonstrations will be presented: subjective sound quality tests on an aircraft noise simulator, identification of sound sources by means of an acoustic antenna, AV demonstration of differently tempered scales of keyboard instruments, and simulation of air flow in and around a flue organ pipe.
