The adverse effects of exposure to excessive music volumes are widely recognized
and addressed in modern societies, yet there is a continued need for
innovative solutions that may help prevent hearing damage, or compensate
intelligently when the damage is done. This conference intends to bring
international focus on technological options for safer music exposure,
such as hearing protection strategies and technology, conditions for
populations at risk and risk behaviors, methods for sound exposure
monitoring and assessment of hearing, among others. See the Call for
Contributions for more information.

Tokyo, Japan, 7–9 August, 2018 (pre-event 6 August)
This conference will be focused on spatial reproduction which is of
primary importance for audio engineering. The last such conference (AES
40th International) was held in Tokyo in 2010 and attracted at least two hundred attendees.
Since then, there have been numerous new developments to explore. The Call for
Contributions is now live, looking for papers, engineering briefs,
workshops and tutorials.

DigiPen Institute of Technology Redmond, WA, USA, August 20-22, 2018
The three-day conference program will focus around the dissemination of
top-level research in the field of spatial audio for virtual and
augmented reality, and discussion of technical solutions and recommended
practices. In addition to the paper and poster sessions, the conference
will also consist of invited presentations from key researchers,
practitioners and industry leaders, demonstrations, panel discussions,
tutorials, and workshops. The arena of virtual and augmented reality is
highly interactive and multi-disciplinary and as such, we would like
the conference to reflect this. The Call for
Contributions seeks papers, workshops and tutorials.
