AES at NAMMLocation: Anaheim Convention Center, CA, USA With a vision to continue to strengthen the music and pro audio industries, The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) and The Audio Engineering Society (AES) have announced a new collaborative alliance which will integrate pro audio educational training activities related to live sound, performance audio, recording technology and other topics into The 2018 NAMM Show, January 25-28 in Anaheim, California.
New York Convention Call for ContributionsAES 143rd Convention There's still time to propose a contribution for the New York convention, co-located for the first time with NAB Show New York. There's a May 31 deadline for paper proposals, June 4 for workshops and tutorials, and August 9 for engineering briefs. AES wants to encourage audio practitioners to take part in the convention and discuss their work, and an engineering brief is an ideal way to do it without having to write more than a few pages. You can give a spoken presentation, or a poster if you prefer. Join your colleagues and promote your work! We've also opened advance registration and hotel signups, so go ahead and plan your trip today!
New AES Live Videos AvailableAES Live videos are part of a growing library of content from recent events and other sources, and are only available to members. Recently we've added four new items:
Standards NewsThe AES Standards Committee is soliciting industry support through a new program called "AES Standards Sustainers". The standards work of the Audio Engineering Society has been vital to the advancement of the audio industry. Numerous standards in development are driving an expansion of the AES standards operation. That necessitates an expanded base of funding. Unlike other technical societies with standards programs the AES does not charge participation fees. The Society believes that a completely open process ultimately produces better and more widely accepted standards. Consequently other sources of revenue are required. Besides enabling the development of standards that underlie fundamental technology in the audio industry, the program offers participants significant marketing and public relations exposure.
