The Audio Engineering Society was founded in 1948,
after some months of discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of
starting a new society devoted exclusively to audio engineering. In the
years 1947 thru 1952 the activities of the AES were reported in the
magazine "Audio Engineering" (AE), eventually in an "AES Journal"
section of AE, which we call "Volume 0" of the AES Journal. The Society
started publishing its own Journal in 1953, replacing the reporting in
AE.
We have scanned the AES reports and papers in Audio Engineering
magazine, so that we can present the record of the AES in those early
years as links to the Index below. Thanks to David Dintenfass and Dylan Constan-Wahl for providing
and scanning the magazines. Pages assembled by Jay McKnight. [My clarifications of some of the titles are in square brackets.]
The complete Index to "Audio Engineering" magazine is online . Altho the AES Journal
papers are not separately indexed, you can find each of them by
searching on "AES".
