Since 1989 Ralph Kessler has been running his pro audio company "PINGUIN™ Ing.Büro". His professional activities include development and publishing of pro audio software as well as mastering in the specially developed "acoustic holodeck" construction in his Hamburg 3D audio studio. Between 2000 and 2019, he was "Head of Audio" on worldwide tours (including the Middle East, South America, USA) and was responsible for the post-production of the concert DVDs/BluRays of the Armenian KOHAR Symphony Orchestra & Choir. His inventions found their way into international patents or were published in 2 AES papers. In 2016 he was awarded the AES Fellow Award in Paris. He has been a founding member, treasurer and webmaster of AES Germany eV since 2022.
In 2016, Ralph Kessler was presented with the AES Fellowship Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development of professional audio over a sustained number of years.

1985 - 1989: work as R&D engineer / project leader @ Quantec Tonstudiotechnik, Munich, constructing "studio quality reverb devices" and other digital audio signal processing;
1989 - today: Founder & Owner of PINGUIN Ing.Büro (registered trademark); started with contract work for HMA and WEISS: the Penguin mastering system; developed and published later pro audio metering and virtual acoustics software, he creates and markets a library of multichannel acoustical fingerprints of high quality music halls to premium audio manufacturers; 2000 - 2019: main audio consultant for the armenian KOHAR symphony orchestra & choir, production of a library of more than 500 music titles on DVD / BluRay, head of audio during LIVE concert touring
2009 inventor credit in upmixing patent (commercially used under the TM name AuroMatic, mainly used in premium home entertainment systems and in car audio)
since 2000 work in several standard committees e.g. EBU PLOUD, ITU-R SRG3 (loudness measurement method BS1770) or AES TC's.
2022 cofounds a new united AES Germany section, works as treasurer & webmaster
2022 works actively in the non-profit project group "wiki.audio"
(cooperation project , started with several german audio universities and associations)
2023 filed a virtual acoustics patent and the brand "efleKtor™"
As a section officer I would like to continue to actively promote the "AES spirit" of information exchange between manufacturers and users as well as universities and industrial R&D departments and deepen it in local activities. I would also like to continue the collaborations already established with like-minded associations and organizations, as I am convinced that everyone will benefit from this.
