Marcela Zorro is an audio engineer dedicated to the recording and production of classical music. She has done recordings for the Colombian National Symphony, the Bogota Philharmonic, the Colombia Youth Philharmonic, the Sydney North Chamber Orchestra, as well as for the Cartagena International Music Festival and the Batuta Foundation. She has worked with ensembles such as the Del Sol, Q-Arte and Manolov string quartets, Ensamble Alfabeto, Ars Humana and has collaborated with film music composers as a recording and mixing engineer for several films.
She works as a teacher and researcher in the Audio Production emphasis at Los Andes University in Bogota, Colombia.
She is an active member of AES Latin America and, in such capacity, has collaborated with the development of some of the society's regional conferences in Mexico, Uruguay, Colombia and Brazil.
In 2012, Marcela Zorro was presented with the AES Board of Governors Award in recognition of co-chairing the 2010 Latin American Conference in Bogota, October 2010.
Marcela studied music with emphasis in sound engineering at the Javeriana University in Colombia and holds a Masters degree in Sound Recording from McGill University in Canada.
Previous to her work as an independent engineer, Marcela worked at Galaxy Studios in Belgium.
