Daniel Shores is a three-time GRAMMY® Nominee (two for Best Surround Sound Album, one for Best Engineered Classical Album) and has recorded, mixed and mastered albums accounting for 17 GRAMMY® Nominations and 1 Latin GRAMMY® win. Shores served as the head of the Sono Luminus record label from 2006–2014 and continues to serve as the label’s head engineer. In addition to Sono Luminus, Shores has engineered albums for Bridge Records, Naxos, RCA Red Seal, Koch, Hannsler Classics, Delos, and the Steinway and Sons Record label, accounting for well over 140 albums.
In his time at Sono Luminus, he has engineered over 25 surround sound releases on Pure Audio Blu-Ray, making Sono Luminus the first U.S. label to release albums in the format. In 2015 Daniel began working in immersive audio and now has 5 Blu-Ray releases which include an Auro-3D stream, again, the first for an American label.
In addition to his duties at Sono Luminus, Daniel has served as an adjunct professor in the Music Production Recording Technology department at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia since 2009. There he has taught location recording techniques in the remote recording practicum class as well as classes on surround sound and recording systems.
