Join experts from the Dolby Institute as we explore how Dolby Atmos is shaping content creation and presentation of spatial audio content in professional and consumer applications.  Knowledge about content creation, distribution, and delivery is increasingly important for students and early professionals to succeed in a rapidly evolving marketplace.

This presentation will include:

• How to get started in Dolby Atmos

• Content creation

• Dolby Renderer and Album Assembler

 • Delivery pipelines

Resources available to all professionals and students to keep up with current trends and navigate this evolving marketplace will also be discussed.

Scanlon and Glasgow will appear live via Zoom for this exclusive workshop.  Video projection and headphone distribution of binaural spatial audio will be available for up to 24 seats in Bragg 180.  BYOH: Bring your own headphones!

Immersive Studios Open House and AES Meet & Greet

Location: Bragg 180, College of Media and Entertainment, Middle Tennessee State University

Moderated by: Alex Wons, Sterling Martin and Andrew Pauly

Speaker(s): Profs. Michael Fleming, Mauricio Gargel and Matt Foglia

 Following extensive renovations over the summer, the Recording Industry Department debuts two updated mix/control rooms with immersive monitoring capabilities.

 
Bragg 180 features Atmos compliant Genelec monitoring with an Avid S6 control surface, making the room suitable for sound-for-picture dubbing and immersive music mixing.
 
Bragg 183 is home to the Calrec Summa console, part of a networked broadcast audio production system, and an Atmos compliant array of Neumman loudspeakers.  
 
Come see and learn about both facilities while meeting other audio production students.  The MTSU Audio Engineering Society student section leaders will introduce themselves and discuss the opportunities and benefits of engagement in the AES.

 Alex Jacobsen, grandson of Auratone founder Jack Wilson, is the proprietor of the family-owned company responsible for the modern revival of the legendary Soundcube loudspeakers.  

 
Come learn about the company's history, applications for its loudspeakers, and hear a demonstration of current products.
