Summary

Interesting interview to the legendary audio engineer Glyn Johns conducted by Roberto Klein which deals with Glyn Johns's famous technique of drum recording, how it arises and what is its real contribution in a musical production. From the original technique with three microphones that he discovered by mistake in 1968 to the different variations or reinforcements of microphones that he has come to implement, this technique was an important advance in the stereo conception of the drum set and has been mythologised to date, appearing in numerous forums and videos where it is explained although, as Johns himself points out, these explanations do not always come close to the actual technique. The interview can be followed through the AES-Spain YouTube channel.
