Chair, Jameul Dye, moderated a panel of local location sound recordists including Scott Beatty, Nicholas Minter, and Glen Trew.
Each panelist began with their background and how they got into the field. The panelists gave overviews of the differences in mixing on set versus in the studio and the various roles on set including bag mixing versus cart mixing. Gear was discussed such as prosumer versus pro gear, wireless systems, and mics. Gender and race were discussed in terms of how each of the panelists have encountered any issues or seen positive changes within the industry. The panelists concluded with suggestions on how to enter the field of location sound mixing and answered questions from attendees.
This year's workshop was rescheduled as a Zoom webinar due to COVID-19. Thanks to AES HQ in helping to allow for our event to be viewed by AES members worldwide!
