Meeting Topic: Facilites Tours
Meeting Location: Alberta, Canada
The local AES chapter travelled to Calgary and Edmonton to take in experiences in the Alberta music industry. In Calgary on Friday, March 22, the group received a tour of the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary and learned about the acoustic design of the concert hall, the live sound setup for concerts, and the recording capabilities of the facility. That evening, the group attended a showing of "Captain Marvel" at the Dolby Atmos theatre in Calgary, experiencing the high-fidelity audio capabilities of the theatre.
On Saturday, March 23, the group drove to Edmonton where they received a tour of Sound Extractor Studios. The studio was filled with high end recording equipment, old and new instruments, and various recording rooms for various applications. In the evening, the group attended a local concert at The Rec Room in Edmonton.
