October was an amazing month for the Webster AES, in no small part because of our experience at the AES International Conference in New York. We were humbled by the opportunity to attend panels with so many dedicated and knowledgeable presenters, tour the expansive expo floor, and be so warmly received at the various auxiliary events around the city. We got to chat with a number of our favorite presenters from previous years, and meet potential new faces for our Central Region Audio Student Summit coming up in March. Outside of the conference, the trip was a great time to explore the city and bond as a team.
When we returned, we were greeted by our much needed Fall break, but we got right back in the swing of things thereafter by involving our students in doing sound reinforcement for an installment of the Webster film series, which involved students setting up for, running, and tearing down a full system for the musical accompaniment to a silent film, all under the guidance of our lovely live sound chair.
In meeting, we have been thinking up new and exciting ways to use our newly renovated communications school building to make this year's upcoming Summit better than ever.
