Many (probably most) recordists are faced with having to work within an existing space. It isn't always feasible or practical to have a purpose-built mixing space (or recording space). Usually, you have to play the cards you have been dealt.
Rather than blindly going into your space and forcing your mix to work, you can take advantage of no cost to low cost measurement tools (see list below) to help you understand and treat your space so that you can work more efficiently and effectively.
We'll explore those tools and demonstrate using them to detect and treat things like standing waves and reflections.
