Stephen Barton’s extensive credits include the now iconic Apex Legends theme, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, scores for the entire Titanfall universe, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, 12 Monkeys, and numerous other feature film, television and game credits.
Born in the UK, he moved to Los Angeles in 2002 at the age of 19 as an assistant to Harry Gregson-Williams, arranging and orchestrating on over four dozen major motion picture and TV projects, including Shrek 2 (to which he contributed a song on the double-platinum soundtrack) as well as the Narnia franchise, Kingdom of Heaven, and multiple Tony Scott movies.
Since then he has scored numerous solo projects including Jennifer’s Body, Exam, Line of Duty, Last Weekend, the Michael Apted thriller Unlocked, Niko And The Sword of Light, MTV’s Liquid Television, Motorcity, GI: Joe Resolute, and many others.
Other work has included producing Sir Anthony Hopkins’ album Composer for Classic FM, which sat atop the classical album charts for 10 weeks and won Album of the Year at the prestigious BRIT Awards; work with James Cameron and Cirque du Soleil in New Zealand on a 3D motion picture, Worlds Away; and arrangements and performing on numerous albums for artists as diverse as Hybrid, Perry Farrell, and Fireball Ministry.
He is also works extensively in spatial and immersive audio/music, consulting (amongst others) to BBC Worldwide, Qualcomm, and several start-ups on music beyond 5.1 surround, in particular on the use of Dolby Atmos and high order ambisonics for scores within film and video games.
