Rich Jensen

An early collaborator with the definitive “Indie” K and Sub Pop music labels in the 1980s, Rich built the business infrastructure for Sub Pop, establishing its rise as a showcase for Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, and many artists to follow. Serving as its Sub-President, General Manager, and Senior Director of A&R from 1991 to 1999, he helped broker an historic $20M joint-venture with the Warner Music Group. With Chris Takino in 1993, Rich co-founded Up Records, launching the careers of platinum artists Modest Mouse and Built to Spill. In 2009, tech-punk pioneers YACHT released a version of his 1987 song ‘Psychic City’ to global acclaim, generating over $1M in sales and licensing revenues. In 2014, Rich joined forces with Brodie Stevens to form Cabin Games LLC, a Native American-owned music, lifestyle and entertainment brand. Rich has been instrumental in crafting the emergent vision and success of cultural projects ranging from literature and politics to media and music. A lifelong resident of North Pacific America he lives by the water with his family in Seattle.
