About the 59th AES International Conference

                          59th AES International Conference Program

Sound Reinforcement
Engineering and Technology

The 59th AES International Conference (15-17 July 2015) aims to create a forum for all professionals working in or around the area of installed and live performance sound to share and advance techniques, technology, and discuss current and future platforms for system applications.
This AES International Conference is the first in over 25 years dedicated to Large Scale Sound Reinforcement, Public Address, and Live Sound. It will bring together master practitioners, developers, users, and scientists to share their knowledge, know-how, and working methods in the art and science of sound reinforcement, distribution, and amplification.  The conference will focus on the latest developments and emerging trends in sound reinforcement and their applications in live performance. The goal of this three-day event is to establish a higher standard for live sound, and to promote education, exploration, and innovation under the leadership of the best practitioners and technology developers in the field.
The conference will be held in the beautiful city of Montreal in Quebec, Canada, which is itself a center for innovation in live sound, and is hosted by McGill University’s Schulich School of Music.  Montreal is the home of Cirque du Soleil, the International Festival du Jazz, and the Just For Laughs Festival. The Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Celine Dion, and Arcade Fire derive their musical roots from a city which hosted Expo ’67 and 1976 Summer Olympics.  The cosmopolitan cuisine, international ambiance, and outgoing hospitality of Montreal are legendary.
The conference will include tutorials and workshops covering such topics as practical approaches to system design; case study analysis; and the measurement, optimization, installation, and testing of sound systems. Keynote addresses from some of the world’s most accomplished system designers and reproduced sound technologists will augment paper discussions, and facility tours will complement a rich schedule of social events. Whether you are a seasoned professional or relative newcomer, there will be much to draw on from contact with top experts in the field of sound reinforcement and electro-acoustics during this conference.
